Overcoming shortages of parts in a need-based industry

With a total universe of 30,000 parts with unpredictable and need based demand, the main challenge JCB was facing was to serve the customer within 24 hours and at the same time control inventory and obsolescence. Shortage of parts at the dealer’s site translates into a direct financial damage for every hour of downtime of equipment.
